A RARE HONOR TO KUCHIPUDI

Among the variety of Traditional Dances, Kuchipudi Dance is of its own kind Andhra Pradesh in the birth place of this dance proud of this which is having history of 700 years.

The 21st June was red Letter day in the History of Kuchipudi Dance, as the Dance item "JATHI SWARAM" Presented by 400 Dance Artists at a time on the stage avages at in Silicon Valley in U.S.A.Was wanted in the Gunnies Book. To this extent as information letter too was handed one to President Sylicondra Kuchibhotla Anand and noted Dance Master Vempati China Satyam by the representative of Gunnis.



It was a feast to eyes to not only to the citizens of Cooperatives of valley but also to all Delegates, Artists, and Guests and to all August gathering who witnessed the procession.  Chariot, specially decorated, carried the idols of Sidhendra Yogi Great Grandfather of Kuchipudi Dance and also others. The local people were taken aback to see that the chariot who pulled by more than hundred Artists all the 3 kilometers distance.

Daggubati Purandhreswari, Central Minister for Human Resources in her key address appreciated Kuchipudi Dance and also organisers of Silicon Andhra Society. Also she assured to do all that is possible to popularize this Dance, on behalf of Govt. Most of the Lady participants of this function including Mayor of Cooperatives were in Telugu traditional "Saree" dress.  All the Artists, participated in this rare dance came from different corners of Globe.

More than 2500 Andhraites, settled in various countries visited this three-day dance programme and everybody enjoyed the month watering taste of all exclusive Telugu Dishes, special foodings, sweet items etc. arranged on this occasion.

General Sanjay Sinha, of Indian consulate said that there are more than 25 lac Indians in USA at present and all are leaving no stone unturned for their self progress as well as for the development of USA also.

Among participants, State High Court Justice G. Bhavani Prasad, State Minister M. Buddha Prasad.  Avula Manjulatha V.C. of Telugu Viswavidyalayam and R. Kavitha Prasad Director, A.P. Cultural Department etc., appreciated and promised to extent full support to such programmes in the days to come.

Later in a meeting held on this occasion, the proposed of K. Anand, Founder President of Silicon Andhra – to establish an Auditorium in 50 acres of Land in A.P. was approved and accordingly the Govt. of A.P. will be approached for further help.  Also it is decided to conduct second International Kuchipudi celebrations in Hyderabad in the month of December 2010.  A colourful Dance programme with various special items added more attraction to this function.  It is indeed a great attempt for encouraging our Traditional Dances by NRIs and for this the entire Silicon Andhra's Committee Members need to be appreciated whole heartedly.
